本传记片由成岛出执导，详细讲述了日本最受欢迎的儿童作家之一、传奇诗人和小说家宫泽贤治的一生。作为明治时代富有当铺商人的长子，宫泽贤治在成长过程中一直被期待有一天能继承家族企业。然而，自由奔放的宫泽贤治决心走自己的人生道路，独自从事农业研究、合成宝石和其他古怪的事业。。靠近大海，有一家三口：父亲、姐姐和弟弟。母亲早年因病去世，墓地被拆除后，骨灰被接回家中，三人各有心事，经常对着客厅的骨灰倾诉自己的烦恼。弟弟晓海在英语补习班遇到困难，父亲则面临再婚的问题，姐姐则在经历新恋情。 得知父亲答应了理发店女老板结婚的要求，弟弟晓海因对母亲的深厚感情极力反对。在一个家庭聚餐的晚上，晓海因闹别扭而搞破坏，被父亲打了巴掌。晓海感到委屈，外出淋雨后病倒了。父亲冒着暴雨抱着儿子去医院，结果因严重的心脏疾病再次发病，最终在医院的角落去世。父亲的离世让晓海和姐姐终于明白了他为这个家庭的付出。尽管逝者已逝，姐弟俩按照父亲的安排，将母亲的骨灰与父亲合葬在新的墓地，共同安息。。A young junior hockey player's life is shattered by an in-game act of violence.
