本剧讲述了现代女大学生意外穿越到古代书院后的校园故事。主人公吴芄芄在女扮男装进入书院后，与同窗好友唐文起、祁赡发生的一系列啼笑皆非的故事。以及他们共同努力，携手改变古时教育资源分配不公平等问题。几人勇敢对抗古代不平等的观念，共同创办私学，拒绝门第歧视，甚至招收女子入学，不收取任何钱财，只为了人人有书可读。那怕中间有许多阻碍，但都被一一克服，最终所有人都被几人感化，他们的做法也逐渐取得了认同。并且成功的将现代教育观念融入进古代书院。。本片是关于老年合唱团"Young@Heart"的纪录片，"Young@Heart" 成立于1982年，成员多是年过半百的老人，其早期成员大多经历过战争创伤，二十多年来，这群老人从来没有停歇过，创作了大量的舞台剧和音乐剧，并翻唱了多乐队的歌曲，包括Jimi Hendrix，Coldplay和Sonic Youth等，他们的精神正在感动越来越多的人……。Ellenor is called to the house of her close friend, Senator Keith Ellison, where she finds the dead body of a man in his bed.
