电影讲述了发生在河北邯郸曲周县农村几家人之间发生的信与义的故事。爷爷在拾柴路上捡到一个装着钱的布包，布包被人认领后却发现失主另有其人，满怀愧疚的爷爷为兑现承诺偿还心债，开始日复一日走村串巷寻找骗钱的人，经过千辛万苦，最终找回钱包使其物归原主。故事发生在冬日的北方大地，风格平实质朴，情节一波三折很有内在张力，人物的命运在情节的起伏中牵动人心，结局出人意料又在情理之中。。Johnny is finally old enough to participate in Porkbelly's Annual Running of the Squirrels, but he has to get past his mom, who thinks it's too dangerous. Johnny, the twins and Mom realize it's Father's Day, and they don't have a gift. They try many disastrous attempts, making Dad wish they had never remembered.。
