电影讲述了1882年的广东，时局动荡，内忧外患。在广州，湖广商会为了争夺与英商布朗的合作权办了一场擂台赛。梁宽来到擂台替师弟出头，谁知这竟然是英商布朗的阴谋，狂化了的鬼脚七像猛兽一般竟要置梁宽于死地。这时黄飞鸿及时出现救下梁宽，谜底则一点点揭开，英国人来到中国的目的居然是为了制造“战争机器”。而飞鸿一等人这时才刚刚察觉到，这一切的幕后主使另有其人。。James Herriot is a vet in Yorkshire, England, during the 1940's.
