故事发生在新中国成立后的伊春地区，以马永祥、郑毅、魏建中等人为首的林区工人在党的号召下奔赴条件艰苦的伊春山区，三代人和恶劣的环境作斗争，战胜自然灾害，从最开始的原始伐木到机械化，迈进了一大步。随着改革思潮的来临，马永顺、魏建中、华青等人继承老一辈人的意志，勇于探索、另辟蹊径，找到了林区发展的新路子，整顿超采、滥砍盗伐等不正之风，建立起良好的护林育林生态体系，不仅保护了森林，更让资源得到了合理的运用。三代人不遗余力的苦干，其艰苦卓越的精神，在兴安岭上空飘荡。。一个男人发现自己被困在一个沙漠峡谷中，与一位在野外生活的女性一同被一群虐待狂男孩囚禁。。MOTHER TONGUE (母语) is a portrait of a Chinese American family in which the consequences of a mother’s decision to leave her young daughter in the care of a white American “homestay” family are slowly unearthed over the course of a family dinner.
