Jodorowsky works directly with real, suffering people who are eager to solve their problems.。剧本来自剧中人物夏祖林的日记《可怜天下父母心》，本剧描述了现实中15岁就患脊髓小脑运动变异症，到最后26岁时候开始不能说不能动的夏祖林的前半生所经历，在这段经历中父母的苦心孤诣，还有亲人的陪伴。。1941年秋天，西伯利亚的绿色增援部队抵达前线最危险的地段，其中包括尼古拉·斯莱普科夫，绰号“萨莫贡”，他在二战中一共消灭了600多个德国佬。
