The film follows Inspector Stucky investigating a series of murders and the theatrical suicide of Desiderio Ancillotto, a count who lives in the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, in a story that recounts the conflict between greed and respect for the land.。俄罗斯版《大事件》由瑞典导演安德斯·班克（Anders Banke）执导，班克在莫斯科的电影学院念书，并且能够讲一口流利的俄语，他曾经导演《致命吸血鬼》，正是这部电影中透出的才华让俄罗斯制片公司看中，选择其拍摄《大事件》，这也是俄罗斯第一次翻拍香港电影。从公布的剧照、预告片来看，整部电影营造的警匪对抗的紧张气氛更为浓厚，另有不少爆炸戏份。。
