(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。詹姆斯．布里奇斯导演。女记者金伯利和摄影师亚当斯拍到加利福尼亚一家核电站控制室发生故障的情景，且发现这是个严重的事故——中国综合症。为了能把真情公诸于世，他们历经千辛万苦侥幸逃脱特工的暗杀，终于在电台作了揭露。本片把艺术与严肃的社会态度有机地结合在一起，但又让人感觉不到政治和社会含义的存在。它是一部第一流的情节片，也是一部现实主义影片。。滨海市城北某仓库忽然发生爆炸事件，导致一名群众受伤，特警队排爆组长徐忠民在调查中发现，现场爆炸残留物与八年前一起珠宝抢劫案（称“六一一”案件）极为相似。当年城郊采石场的一批雷管被盗，被嫌犯柴智峰做成自制炸弹，在抢劫过程中柴智峰携带的炸弹突然被引爆。这让徐忠民认为是自己的失职导致，多年来一直照顾着柴智峰母亲和他智障弟弟柴智飞。在市公安局的案情分析会议上，局长顾光荣决定将这次爆炸案与八年前“六一一”案件并案处理，并且指示徐忠民及特警排爆组成员协助刑警队邱洁成立专案组联合破案。 就在这一天的凌晨，刚从监狱释放出来的阿鬼回到滨海市，阿鬼回来是为了找刁叔拿回8年前珠宝抢劫案欠他的一大笔钱。刁叔答应先给他一部钱，并且安排了阿鬼去城北的无人仓库碰头，没想到阿鬼刚到仓库就发生了爆炸，阿鬼被炸伤后逃走。阿鬼认定是刁叔想要炸死他，刁叔同样以为是阿鬼炸的仓库，派出马仔搜寻...。
