这是一部豫剧戏曲片。穷秀才莫稽（池宁 饰）父母双亡、贫病交加，在风雪之夜昏倒在丐头金松（王柏萱 饰）家门口，金松之女金玉奴（牛淑贤 饰）将其扶回屋内收留。莫秀才知书达理、心存感激，玉奴芳心暗系，金松作主让其二人完婚。几年后，莫赴京科考及第，受封德华知县，金家父女不胜欣喜。莫上任后贪图享乐，前情尽忘，心生休妻之心。玉奴绝望自尽，被巡府许大人（韩刚 饰）相救并收做义女。金松找莫理论，被莫逐出家门。许大人设宴款待下属，席间问莫可有妻室，莫回答妻落水而亡，闻听许大人要把女儿许配给他，莫喜不自胜、受宠若惊。他进后院拜见小姐，被丫环告知必须摘掉乌纱脱去官服......。When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation. He also stumbles on to an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins。女佣与财阀江家大少爷之间的一段一见钟情，却又经历种种误会与磨难，最终获得幸福的故事。。
