玉帝的七位女儿正在为蟠桃大会准备献礼，七妹紫儿在瑶池边观察人间百态，动了玩心，天上地下规矩颇有不同，紫儿因吃了包子铺的包子而给不出钱，被扣押，危难时刻一名叫董永的少年挺身解围，让紫儿得以顺利重返天庭。紫儿目睹董永为殓葬父亲，卖身到傅员外家为奴，决定下凡帮助，以报答当日出手相救之恩。两人结拜兄弟，紫儿因陪董永挖人参误了蟠桃大会，玉帝震怒，派李天王押紫儿返回天庭。。A quick glimpse at the cast for this film would make any horror fan giddy with glee. The actual movie doesn't live up to those high expectations, but it's far from being all bad. Desi Arnaz Jr. (!) plays an author who makes a crazy $20,000 bet with his publisher that he could write a great novel in only 24 hours.
