在外地生活三十年的老知青张东海(金鑫钸)为看病提前退休带妻子江月红(朱茵钸)回沪.他的弟弟张光明(姚侃钸)和弟媳王阿芳(李晓佳钸)为了抢房子也赶到父母家"挤"一只角.从些,兄弟、妯娌、婆媳、母子之间因为房产、家务、疾病等大小诸事产生了许多矛盾．现实逼着张东海放下面子．为了生存，他当过门童，去服装店打工，给侄子扛机器，最终找到了自己的人生位置，回归土地开始太空花卉种植．同时，江月红却露出了怎么要强的一面，她当过超市营业员，在地铁卖过报纸，又以交易手段当上了丽波公司财务经理，之后双跳遭到别一家公司当财务总监．夫妻隔阂越来越深．偏偏他们的女儿小甜(陈坚红钸)竟爱上了张东海曾经的恋人林佳丽(越静钸)的丈夫--梁波(王卫平钸).大梦初醒的林佳丽开始奋起反抗,她的女儿安妮(黄明媚钸)开始不停地报复张小甜.不甘示弱的江月红也出于自的目的加入了是非,与丈夫关系更加大...。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
