梅和莉莉是好朋友，多年来以偷盗为生，一天，她们遇上了一个古惑仔杰克，发现三人竟是小时候保良局的旧同学。缺少社会关爱的三个人彼此之间有了一点人间的温情，经过一段时间的相处，两个少女同时爱上了杰克。可惜快乐的日子过不了多久，噩梦便来临。杰克发现被其大哥骗了，他坚持要拿回属于自己的东西，在两个女神偷的协助下，他们展开了一场斗智斗勇的大比拼。眼看他们就要金盆洗手的时候，却发现杰克原来是一个癌症末期的病人，爱情变得如此凄美。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
