「新宝岛曼波」拍摄以抒情诗人著称的杨泽，邀请小说家骆以军、杨隶亚、黄崇凯共同参与编剧，表现诗人致力探索的70年代迄今的台湾文化论述。全片尝试创造纪录片全新的叙事方法，聚焦杨泽的百年情怀与文化史观，并企图让电影开展「南部是歌，北部是诗」的诗意视野。。一对来自农村的姐妹怀揣演员梦，背井离乡来到影视城。然而，现实残酷，她们备受欺凌，生活陷入困境。面对挫折，姐姐选择脚踏实地，凭借真本事奋斗；妹妹则试图走捷径。最终，姐姐获得成功，妹妹在惨痛教训后也意识到歪门邪道不可取。。Set in 1978, the film marks the fourth joint effort between Monzón and Jorge Guerricaechevarría, and tells the action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled story of 17-year-old Nacho Cañas, an introverted student who lives in Girona and who is something of a misfit.
