石桥留美子（菅野美穗饰）曾经是以为非常富有才华的自由作家，对文学和写作充满了热情。在和丈夫丰（和田聪宏饰）结婚之后，为了抚养孩子们，留美子不得不暂时封笔，将自己的梦想束之高阁，但这么多年过去，她始终没有放弃过对于写作的执念，并且一直想要复出。。崔晚欣本是个护士，因意外救了顾氏集团总裁顾浩原，被白洛洛顶替后，白洛洛将她杀人灭口，崔晚欣意外没死，但却毁了容，为了报复，她整容成白洛洛的模样，设计成了白洛洛替身，在她一步步的计划下，白洛洛获得了应有的报应，而她跟顾浩原也修得正果。Volker Schlöndorff transposes Bertolt Brecht’s late-expressionist work to latter-day 1969. Poet and anarchist Baal lives in an attic and reads his poems to cab drivers.
